I had the Maze on 12-4-01 at Texas Heart Inst. Everything went ok. Had two units of blood on the 2nd day. Discharged on the 7th day home. Had 6 hr. drive home. Still a little amemic on the 22nd day but doing better.( on iron and etc. ) Had NSR and no feelings of PAC or PVC's until about the 15th day. Started having "skipped beats" and these tend to be more frequent when setting up or exercising. Not many at rest. Had holter 3 days ago. Showed number of PVC's and a few PAC's no pauses and no A- Fib.

I feel most of these in the abd. aera and if I get bounced around in the car or bend over at the waist seems to trigger them. Dr. put me on beta blocker and will be on coumidin for about 3 mo. Has any one else had increase in PVC's after Maze.? Do they decrease?Local cardio. really not familiar with Maze. But wiling to talk with Dr. in Houston. Dr. in Houston said that these are not uncommon for awhile. (Annoying tho.) My resting rate pre-opt was about 58-60 . Now rate about 77-84 Rate goes up to about 98 -104 when walking.

Still get tired and somewhat sore in chest due to cough. That is getting better. Sleep is good in recliner and recently able to sleep on r side in bed.

Surgeron said I went into A- fib right as the surgery started. As far as I know no a-fib. just bothersome PVC"s
Any feed back helpful. I noticed some have tried magnesium and C-Q 10 with some good results on PVC"s.
Will be 3 weeks next Tuesday. Am I rushing it?
