I had the full MAZE III on August 21, 2001 along with a mitral valve repair with a Carpentier (sic) ring. It is not uncommon to have a slump in your recover at the three week point. You have had a major assult on your body. It will take time to fully recover. At least three months for the sternum to become fairly solid again and for me about four months before the chest muscle discomfort was almost all gone. You sound like you are doing great. The MAZE incisions are very significant and your heart will take some time to completely heal and stabilize.
