Jim: I had the full Maze III plus mitral valve repair with a Duran ring due to 3+ mitral regurg. My procedure was done by Dr. Deepak Gangahar, a brilliant surgeon, associated with the Nebraska Heart Intitute in Lincoln, Nebraska. The procedure was done at BryanLGH Medical Center in Lincoln. I would recommend Dr. Gangahar to anyone interested in this procedure. He is also a transplant surgeon. I also am a medical secretary for another cardiac surgeon and two cardiologists at the Nebraska Heart Institute, so I have the added benefit of being watched over very closely. In fact, several of my A fib episodes have occured at work, and so they have been very well documented.
