First, many thanks to all of you -- this resource was invaluable as I was deciding to have the Maze surgery.
I had the surgery (at the CC with McCarthy/Hammer)on Aug 6, 2002, about 7 months ago. I've had no AFib episodes since waking from the surgery, and only an occasional PAC. But I'm experiencing a high resting heart rate:100 to 115 bpm. I speed walk 45-60 minutes daily, plus weight train 2xweek. I'm healthy, not anemic, not over weight, and 44 years old. I'm back on 25mg Toporal daily which reduces the resting rate to 90-95. Prior to the surgery (between AFib episodes) my resting rate was in the 60's.
Does anyone have experience and/or suggestions with this?
