As a St. Louisan, I am curious about your opinion. I just spent 3 days in Barnes having two failed cardioversions and starting flecainide. I apparently need a mitral valve repair and am planning on the Maze at the same time. My dilemma is whether to go to Cleveland or to use the surgeon who consulted at Barnes. He is the head of cardiac surgery there and I am sure has excellent surgical skills. Cleveland, of course, has the reputation of being number one. Any thoughts from all of your dealings with doctors.
