Thanks for your information. Boy, you have really been through the mill compared to me. I have noted your number and when I have more information I'll probably be giving you a call. It's interesting that your EP was conservative. Mine (Dr. Smith) was promoting the Maze as a good choice even before the valve problem was detected and open heart surgery was way down on my list of preferences.
Dr. McCarthy is supposed to be a whiz at the maze procedure. A cardiac surgeon cousin of my husband's went to med school with him and thinks he is the best when it comes to maze. Would he do your valve or would someone (like the big guy there in valves, Cosgrove, for example)do that part? That's one thing I am curious about. Each guy has his specialty. I am sending off my records to Dr. McCarthy as well. Keep me posted as to what you learn.
