Aorta Replacement & MAZE - anyone experience this?

Hello,

My husband, Jack Carpentier is 71 years old and after this last session of AF his cardiologist (Harwin Mead near San Francisco) feel he needs both a value replacement and the MAZE procedure.

Jack has had a lot of health problems over the last five years (four unrelated surgeries, drug induced Lupus and diabetes) - obviously this is a scary siutation. Does anyone have any similar stories or insights on what we can expect?
