It's been about 4 1/2/ months since my Maze at St. Lukes(Dr. Duncan). As far as I know I'm still in NSR. Due to continued episodes of "skipped beats", a few runs of rapid heart rate about 5-6 beats every week to two weeks and some sort of slow beats like several skips in a row. ( coughing seems to stop both the slow and rapid beats.) I had another holter. Still showes no a-fib. but number of PVC's. Sometimes these are every 20 -30 sec. and sometimes none for a few hours. The strange thing is they seem to happen more laying down on my back, left side, bending over and at a slower heart rate. My resting rate has contiued to come down to a more pre -surgery rate of about 64-73. When my rate goes up the pvc's go away. E.P. in houston still recommends a small dose of rythmol when they get bothersome. It seems to help.
I have noticed recent post that seems several people are haviing some episodes of different kinds of beats and irregular rates.
I still hear that these may be normal for awhile but I wonder if these continue longer than 6 -12 months. Some of you that have been around longer may offer more insite. I was also about thoes of you that have PVC's if you have tried medications or other options.??
I still think the honesty of the post are important and provide a sounding board as well as good information.
God Bless ,
TC
