Somewhat tough question to answer since we are all different. Certainly at 4 1/2 months, I wasn't in the shape that I was before surgery but I did run a pretty tough 10 mile race about that time. Part of my problem in answering is that I didn't monitor my heart for rate that much. I just made sure it was smooth which it always was. During that race, I did max myself out but again I don't know how high I was. I do know that early on after surgery, I was able to jog slowly and keep the rate at 120. I am sure there is some deconditioning here but a lot would depend on what shape you were in prior to surgery.
