Glenn: My local EP sent my records to the CC in early mid November of 2000, and I was tentatively approved for the Maze within 2 weeks or less. I showed up on a Monday, had tests for 2 days and had my Maze on Thursday.
I wasn't familiar with the "second opinion" routine until you posted about it recently.
A number of folks who "self-referred" have done the same thing. Some other, less emboldened folks went to the CC to meet Dr. McCarthy and/or have pre-testing a few weeks ahead of time. I had pretty much lost hope for much more life and wanted to "get it over with", whatever the result!
