Hi Glenn,
I was 40 years old when my local Dr. diagnosed a-fib. They thought that I had a very fast svt. Anyway, my a-fib started sending me to the ER as my ventricular response was always 230-260 bpm. Talk about feeling like you are dying!!! He said that Chicago had a good Ep man, so off I went. I didn't like his bedside manner, so I asked my Cardio for another Ep. He said if you are willing to travel then the CC is the place to be. I made the phone call and the appt was 2 weeks later. I had all of my records and tests results with me and met with Dr Natale. All I can say is WHAT A MAN!!! He's good at what he does and is such a kind soul. I didn't even know about the Maze procedure back then and my Dr never suggested it. If I would have known about it I would have went the ablation route first anyway as it is less invasive. I firmly believe that WHOM is doing it is the most important factor for success. My ablation was 4 months after my consultation. I needed two ablations btw and I still have a funny heartbeat now and then but I'm very thankful to Dr Natale. I am also very thankful to his nurse Michele, she is an angel on earth. I traveled about 7hrs each way and still feel that it was more then worth it. Allie
