Yep, after finding this board, I called the Afib department phone number I got from searching here. They instructed me to fax my records for review. I did......all 75pages of them, and the same day, overnight expressed my radiology images, and reports.
Dr.Schweikert was the one who read my fax. He said it was the longest bunch of reports he'd ever read, and he read ALL of it! He then wrote up an opinion that he sent to me, and to my local EP (as a courtesy because I was "self referred). I also was asking about getting a Maze, and after he conferred with the surgeons, he said they all agreed, that Ablation was the best for me. Now.......I don't think you'll find that "non-territorial" cooperation with too many places. I trusted him, that he was telling me straight!
My testing, and PVA was scheduled on May 12, we traveled 18hrs, staying one night at a hotel going up. I checked in the day of surgery, had the tests that needed done, and went into EP lab to get it done. It lasted longer than he expected.....8hrs. I stayed overnight in the hospital, went to the hotel the second night, and hubby drove us all the way home, without an overnight hotel, and stopped every 1 1/2hrs, as instructed for me to walk, and it took another 18hrs to get home....BUT I was in my own bed!
