Hi stumbled onto the site. 44 yrs. old w/ afib for 12 years. Developed atrial flutter and had ablation in June at Univ. of Penn. Flutter gone but fibrilation more frequent. On toprol, tambacor and coumadin. Dr. recomends more extensive ablation procedure to help the fib.(the procedure to cure the flutter was not as extensive). Apprehensive since I hear the pulmonary veins may close over time and there is a greater risk of throwing a clot with this procedure. Any suggestions or recent good experiences with the procedure or other meds. to control condition. I mainly get the fibrilations at night when in prone position.
