Joss,

Dr. Carpentier at the same facility did pioneering research in the area of mitral valve repair. His work has led to many people in the US having their mitral valve repaired rather than replaced. We have several members that have had the Maze procedure at several locations in the EU with a very high success rate. My MAZE surgery and mitral valve repair was not done at the CC. My surgeon studied under Dr. Carpentier and as a result was able to repair my mitral valve rather than replace it. I wish you luck and hope that you don't have to have a 5th ablation. Many of the members of this board have had their treatment at the CC. And, the CC is considered one of the leading heart centers in the world, as is Haut Leveque. That is not tunnel vision, those are facts.
