Additional Maze Preparation Questions

I too may be undergoing the Maze in April. Cleveland is about 13 hrs. away by car. Should I fly or drive? (My wife would drive after the surgery) If I stay in hotels would it be too difficult to sleep in a bed? Would the pain be too much? Also, after the surgery when in intensive care...are you on a ventilator? How uncomfortable are you after the surgery? I get sinus infections once or twice a year. I get into horrible coughing fits when that happens. Would this be a complication if I got a sinus infection right after the surgery? Would they cancel the surgery if I got a sinus infection just prior to the surgery? Thanks. Jim Matthews
