I had a mitral repair and maze last Novemeber. My reaction to your questions is for you to fly because of the lack of strength after the operation. I retained fluid in the ankles and legs for several days. It took me 3 weeks to be able to sleep in a bed. I also have had some problems with my throat which is probably a result of all the stuff stuck down there (the TEE and ventilator). I woke up when the vent out. Best of luck. Keep us posted.
