I know (hope) it's coming

Been an avid reader of this fantastic board for two years since I've been in Chronic afib. Besides afib also have a mitral valve leak. Have had an echo each
6mos. My last echo done two week ago showed that my
mitral valve leake has gone from minimal to moderate w/ enlargemnt of the l atrium. I guess its time to get something done, I will be consulting with my cardio next week. He said we would know when the time would come depending on how I felt. I am 49 and have been an avid runner and weight lifter all my life. But recently I have been feeling more crappy, breathing is a chore some time. Job is stressful and am not on top of my game, but have been doing a good job of faking it.(I Think). The good thing is that I decided along time ago,thanks to this board, that when the time comes there is no doubt that I would have the maze procedure. Also I know if there is any way, I am going to Cleveland Clinic to have it done.
And believe it or not I am ready to do this, get it done and get on w/my life and not afraid(well maybe some). But what a difference finding this board has made, I cannot imagine what I would be going through mentally if I had not read all the success stories.
So hopefully soon I will be a fellow mazer. I will be proud to join your ranks. God Bless the founders of this board and everyone who contributes, You do not know who's life you are effecting.
Here is a side bar--Had an esophogal(sp?) because after my echo done 6mo's ago they thought they saw a blood clot in my atrium. Another cardio performed the procedure. I asked him about the maze and he laughed and said anyone thinking of that is a fool. My reaction was, this guy is a fool. But with out this board I would be scared to death at the thought of a maze. but now I know that he is not a very good cardioligist. My cardio on the first visit said if we could not convert then " there is this operation....."
Sorry to ramble but I've been waiting two years.
