Jim--Having had the maze at CC 7 days ago, I can understand your frustration. My cardiologist here at home gave me bad stats on the maze, too--70% I think (right, Sarah?). When I talked to Dr. McCarthy about that, he said their rate is 98.5-99% cure. He said he is aware that alot of cardiologists aren't up to date on the success of the maze for AF and that their goal this year is to publish and get the word out. He sent my doc a 300 pg manuscript about their experiences over the past few years.

The breaking of my breastbone was my worst fear and it isn't that bad! Pain is only moderate now, although it is hard to sleep in a full reclining position.
