Hi,
What an inspiring website. I'm coming out of the closet!
I have been out of rhythm for 5years and in continuous AF after working through all the drugs with short term returns to sinus rhythm.
I am a 53yo male. Apart from a bit of dizziness and breathlessness I am not troubled by my problem but I am on aspirin and about to start on warfarin. My greatest worry is the life expectancy concern if I don't have the Maze procedure (I have a young family), is my lifespan shortened?
Oddly I first discovered my problem when I started at a gym 10yrs ago and the instructor told me I was registering a 280pulse on his monitor.
I am in Australia and we only have one doctor here doing the Maze procedure. Any suggestions.
Do I have Maze if I am putting up with the AF?
All help appreciated.
Chris
