Where are you in Australia? They do something called a Star Maze in Sydney. I don't know how that is different from the Cox III procedure. The EP said it gets rid of Afib but often people develop Aflutter that needs to be ablated. It is open heart surgery though. For me it would be a last resort.
Glad it has worked so well for those who have had it done though. You are all very brave people. And I wish you the best of luck.
They also do the ablation procedures here in Sydney. I am about to have an electrophysiology study done and possible ablation, if they find any sites in the right atrium. But I am not brave enough to let them try the pulmonary vein ablation at this time.
