i just cannot understand how the cleveland heart clinic continues to tell people on their questions page that their ablation cure rate for affib is more than 80% when the rest of the world has a 70% (maybe) cure rate with a 20% regression rate getting affib after 3 months , thereby equalling a 50%cure rate-all the literature and even the American Cardiology Society reports the 50% rate or lower-I am sure the Cleveland Center is one of the best heart hospitals in the world but these statistics dont sound right-why would anyone go for the maze if these statitisics of over 80% cure is correct--here is their post to a person on affib being answered by one of their drs.-any thoughts on this?-jerry
Dear fjp,
My opinion is that you are an ideal candidate for an atrial fibrillation ablation procedure. You have persistent afib despite medications and have an otherwise normal heart. We are currently able to cure >80% or individuals like yourself with this procedure. If your doctor thinks it would be a good idea to proceed with afib ablation he can make arrangements to have you see Dr. Andrea Natale the day before the ablation. His office number is (216) 444-4293. Alternatively you can make an appointment with Dr. Natale directly by calling the number below and then schedule the ablation after he evaluates you.
