Thanks for you comments guys I did discuss the Medtronic AT 500 with my consultant Glenn but he wasn't keen as his experience with it wasn't positive it seems that while the Maze stopped my persistant AF it has left me a number of errant signals that produce flutter, tachycardia and AF.

My consultant tells me that sometimes when the pulmanary vein is isolated during the Maze op it could creat a circle of activity that can produce flutter this is what he believes may have happened to me but he is unsure so he wants to wait till he has the equipment to diagnose this for cirtain.

I am not sure if avoiding coudamin is a good thing Pete as it is a very good drug for controling blood clotting if somewhat tedious to manage I imagine your doctors still wanted regular INR results I have never had Flecainide I was taking Sotalol but I am now back on Amioderone this drug has so far been the only one that has had a real effect on my AF but it can have attendant side effects that have to be managed.
My Abalion took place at St Peters hospital in Surrey in the UK and by the way an EP is what exactly.
