Phillip,

I am sorry to hear that your ablation was not successful. Take this from me, unless there is a newer model that will actually control afib, do not let the Dr(s) talk you into a pacemaker for controlling afib or any other arrthymias. My cardiologist told me in February 2002 that the St. Jude's model with the overdrive chip in it would make me not feel afib when I would have an episode. He installed it and in fact I could feel the dadburned thing speeding up my heart when afib would start and I didn't feel the fainty lightheaded feeling that usually accompanied afib and I could pretty well 'carry on' fairly normal activities. Well that part of it only lasted for six or seven months. The rest of the pacemaker works alright, but not the afib controlling part. Afterward I was right back into having the usual bad afib attacks I had experienced prior to the pacemaker.

Find you a good EP that knows what they are doing and who also practices at a facility that is well equipped with the best equipment for performing ablations.
