The blood work, electrocardiogram, echo, and TEE are behind me. The TEE was a non event. The most unpleasant part is the gargle with the viscous liquid and the swallow 60 seconds later. The meeting with Dr. Natale was impressive. I learned that most post MAZE problems are aflutter and resolved with the PVA. The points causing post MAZE afib are more difficult to identify and sometimes result in a longer procedure. As a result I will be his last procedure tomorrow so that he will be able to spend what ever time is required to run the source(s) down. Also, the odds of needing a second touch up are greater with post MAZE afib that with aflutter. Tomorrow will tell the tale. This is one busy place.
