Henry, et.al
I think Medscape is getting harder and harder to search. I've been a member for about 5yrs and have noticed the changes.
It's http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/449493
It's a Reuters health information article.I was very interested in the article "Cardiovascular Mortality Rises When Ibuprofen Added to Aspirin Therapy", because of my arthritis. (same beginning as the article above, but with different last numbers...449451) The butt-heads at my insurance co. cut me off Cox-2 inhibitors, because "you haven't taken the maximum dosage of ALL the NSAIDS, or had gastrointestinal bleedig" to warrant continuing my Celebrex (which i'd beentaking for 5yrs)
NOW artcles are saying that Cox-2 inhibitors have a heart protective side effect.
So: [1]take NSAIDS that counteract the blood thinning effects of my aspirin.
[2]Take uncoated aspirin that adds to the NSAIDS stomach irritation
[3]Throw a blood clot, with or without aspirin, when I do my A-fib, flutter, junctional rhythm thing.
[4]Quit my Aleve, and hurt like hell, loose sleep, and get bitchey. Fun, fun, fun......
