I am one of the few unfortunate persons to develope Atrial Flutter after the MAZE operation.

As you may know from my prevouse listings.I performed a sucessfull Maze III operation at Cleveland Clinic on September 13th 2002, to get rid of the Lone Atrial Fibrillation.

After 10 Months of healthy heart function, I developed fast irregular heart beat. Medical check ups confirmed that it is an Atrial Flutter. The ECO test showed that I went back to NSR after heavy doze of medication. However, to stop any medication, I have scheduled an appiontment with Dr. Natale of Cleveland Clinic for an EP Study and Catheter Abalation Procedure on Jan. 31, 2003.

Did any one of the Ex Mazer done this procedure to get rid of the Atrial Flutter, and was it sucessful?

I also noticed from the ECO result analysis that I have restored the Electric Atrial Function(i.e the regular electrical signal is present) but not the Mechanical Atrial Function (i.e no sign of Atrial Contraction). I am also still have a fast and regular heart beats (in the upper 90s, while at rest ).

A repeat of the Eco test showed the continue lack of the Mechanical Function of the Atria (although my Ejection Factor is about 62%). Does any one know why? and what can done about it?

Thank you all for the help.
