I had the Maze in October, 2001 (14 months ago). When I left CCF I was experiencing Atrial Flutter. Dr Hammer put me on medication but the Atrial Flutter persisted. After 8 months post Maze I returned to CCF in June, 2002, for a successful Ablation by Dr Schweikert which cured the Flutter. I have not experienced any Flutter since then (almost 6 months ago). If you look at my posts starting on 29 April 2002 you will find some information including a discussion by Dr Schweikert on the risks of Ablations and a detailed medical description by Dr S of the procedure.Dr Natale supervises and trains Dr Schweikert and 3 other doctors in the EP lab. They are all excellent. You made the right decision to go back to CCF.
I am surprised that Atrial Flutter would develop so long after your Maze. My flutter was caused by one of the Maze scars and showed itself immediately after the Maze. Your Maze scars should have healed by 10 months so maybe something else is the cause.
