This will be my first posting, but not my last. I was officially diagnosed with chronic afib at the end of Dec in 2000. After talking to jack and a lot of thought I know I have had afib for a lot of years and just did not know it. Then it really got bad. I had a couple of cardio versions, which gets me in NSR very quickly and as quickly goes back to afib. I have made the decision Jack and have an appointment with a cardiolgist Dr Carl Undresser in Boise, Idaho on July 23. The Surgeon will be Dr Barnes. I have a 19 year old daugter that will be getting married on Aug 8. I intend to have the surgery as soon after that date as possible. Oh yes I am a 60 year old male and life has not been pleasent for the past 1 1/2 years. Took 6 months to get drugs to slow down the heart so a could at least get by. 200 mg toporol xl and 120 mg tiazac along with lasic and coumadin. I did not have high blood pressure before, but am now taking univasc for that. I have been checking out the board for the better part of a year now and will keep up to date with what happens to me. A lot of thanks to Jack for the board and for talking to me. I just hope I can have his success or close to it. Thanks also to all others who have posted. You have all helpeds.
