It has been approx 12 weeks since my maze procedure. This is the first time I am writing to let you know how I am and what had hapened to me.
The Maze procedure first of all was a success, I am in NSR although two weeks agao I has a few episodes where it reallly went whacky again off and on for two days.
Aside from that I am still recovering extremely slowly.
I'll explain.
I developed kidney failure where my kidney levels were way off and when I went into the hospital I weighed 118 and 4 days later I weighed 138. I had gained 20 lbs of water from the operation and they were not being very successful at eliminating it. They kept trying various diruretics, and it only slowly started to come out. Also I developed a Pulmonary problem. I had fluid around my lungs which made it hear impossible for me to get up and do any walking. I had 3 plural efusions where they drained (from my back area) over 1200cc (l litre) of fluid out from around my lungs. about every 4 days.
I still today have fluid around the lung which makes it difficult for me to basically walk from one end of the house to the other. I also have post periocardiam inflammation for which I am on prednizone.
It has been a living hell for 3 months and I am just so tired of not feeling good. I can only sleep for about 2 hours at a time at night and wake up continuously. All day I am so very tired. I basically feel like I am in a hole and I can't get myself out.
It has been such an ordeal.
I guess I have some questions for any of you who may of experienced any of these problems. Did you finally get better? I am starting to thik that this way I am so out of breath will stay with me.
Can anyone give me any positive insight?
Thanks so much and God bless you all for your prayers.
Thanks, Sandy
