Dr Saltman, UMass Memorial Medical Center----Beating Heart Maze

I talked with Dr Adam Saltman yesterday concerning his Beating Heart Maze procedure and its success. It sounds like he may have a true breakthrough, and the next advancement of the Maze procedure.
Has anyone else talked to him or been in contact with any of his success stories? He has trained other Doctors in the techniques of the procedure. As of the end of December he has performed the Endoscopic Maze operation on 17 patients this past year, 16 patients elswhere.
In your respected opinions is this enough time and patients for one to pursue this procedure further?
It is very enticing to think od six small holes drilled in the chest, and one to two days in the hospital, and no heart and lung machine.
