I take some Xanax as needed. Not on a regular basis. Needless to say I have been taking it more often the past two or three months as this mess has increasingly worsened. Do any of you know of any kind of medication that would be appropriate other than xanax, by that I mean some that would be as safe as possible to take that helps relax me when I'm having one of the more worse attacks? Xanax is usually prescribed for panic/anxiety. I guess I want something that will make me forget about it or will just put me to sleep until the attacks are over. I'm going to need something like that so I can travel any distances. Just knock me out until I arrive.

I haven't come to terms with those who say that some Dr's don't want patients taking anything for a few days prior to pva or maze. How in the world do you all survive and function any at all? I would be a 'basket' case and have to be carried around on a stretcher if I didn't take medications to sort of help control this mess.

Glenn
