Thanks John for your encouragement. My only choice is to pursue this avenue until I'm cured either by PVA(I) or maze, either one I'm willing to get it done.

John I have an appointment in Dallas, Texas with an EP on the 19th of January. Dr. Miller at Krannert Institute in Indianapolis uses EP Dr. Suleman to review medical records and do a pre-consultation before recommending me as a candidate for PVA(I) to see Dr. Miller at Krannert. If the EP in Dallas tells Dr. Miller that I am not a good candidate then it's a no deal and I will have to seek out another Dr. who will be willing to do either PVA(I) or maze.

As I have posted in the past on this board, I have been talking to a lady in Dallas whom I know, who also suffered for twenty years the same identical problems that I suffer from.... afib, pvc's, bigemy, svt, tachycardia, etc., and went to Dr. Miller five weeks ago and has had no problems at all since PVA(I). No skipped beats, nothing. Just some occassional slight pain and will be on coumadin for another week if progress continues as it has been according to her EP, who happens to be the EP I will see in Dallas.

If the EP, Dr. Suleman in Dallas, suggests to Dr. Miller that I am a candidate for PVA(I), then my wife and I will fly to Indianapolis, Indiana for consultation and CTscan with Dr. Miller prior to the procedure. Then if everything is 'go' we will make an appointment to return at a later date to have the procedure.

Did all of you who have been to CC or any other facility for that matter, for either PVA(I) or Maze have to make a trip for consultation prior to the procedure(s) and then have to make another trip to those facilities for the procedure? Were two trips always needed to get things taken care of? I'm not talking about post surgery checkups.

I am not too happy about having to make two trips to Indianapolis. I would certainly think that by having this EP in Dallas 'screen me' and my medical records that a CTscan could be done there and a decision made as to whether I am a candidate or not for the procedure without having to travel to Indianapolis for a final analysis and and CTscan there, then having to come back home and wait until appointment time and then have to fly back to Indianapolis again for the procedure. Sounds to me like it could be a combined trip. Sure works a hardship on someone as sick as myself trying to travel still in a sickened condition. We're just praying for God to provide whatever it takes for me to make those trips. The expense of traveling doesn't bother me, it's just the problem of traveling because of this devilish mess that's has me so debilitated. It's hard when you feel like your passing out or dying to do one frazzling thing. Y'all know what I'm talking about ..... I think you do from what you've said on this board.

One other thing. I'm scheduled to have a Cesium stress test this coming Tuesday morning the 13th of January in Tyler, Texas, by my local EP. I will also have those results to take to the EP in Dallas as well. When I'm having what I refer to a "full blown" attack, my blood pressure shoots through the roof to around 192/132. I take 5 mg of Norvasc twice a day for controlling my blood pressure but it doesn't control it during these attacks. My local EP told me definitely not to take anymore Norvasc and also I'm taking 120 mg of betapace twice a day and he told me not to exceed that dosage as well even though I'm having an attack. He says wait until the stress test next Tuesday before he makes a determination as to whether these dosages will be increased or changed to a different medicine. The quack doesn't seem to care if I have a stroke or not.

He tells me to go to the emergency room when I'm havin an attack and they will give me either flecamide(sp?) or flecamine(sp?) to 'bring me out of the attacks' and also give me what sounds like quinidone(sp?) for controlling my blood pressure. I asked him why I can't have a prescription for these meds so I can take them when I start having an attack and he only says...... "wait until you have the stress test next Tuesday". I hope next Tuesday will hurry and get here and I hope I can make the trip thirty miles to Tyler. All they have been doing at the ER is take my blood pressure, put a oxygen thing in my nostrils, stick me in a vein and insert a heplock, draw blood for lab work, take a chest x-ray and not do another frazzling thing. I just lay there until the attack subsides which may last for anywhere from five hours until who knows.

Any comments on this will be appreciated.
