Seriously, Judy. I have adopted a meditation thought that I heard about that made sense to me....(of course, i'm a little nuts)....BUT, it was a suggestion that you tell your body that it's "OK for the surgeon to be doing these things to you (your body) beause he's only here to help you be better. That you have given this doctor permission to poke around, invade your space, and do whatever he needs to do. It might hurt for a short while, but it will be all better soon". You don't want your body fighting the doctor while it doesn't understand what's happening.

I kinda' liked that approach.
