Karen, I believe that heart arrythmias after the maze are far more common than thought. Perhaps part of the reason is newer techniques that cause this to happen but whatever, it does happen and most individuals should almost expect it.

I had AFib post maze which was finally controlled by drugs. Then, I had A-Flutter which went on through six weeks at which point I figured I would have to have an ablation to rid myself of it. At seven weeks, it disappeared and since then I have had absolutely no problems. I am now at 20 weeks and exercise very vigorously. Once the heart heals and you revert, I think that it will last. It's just that until the healing process is complete, the heart flops and causes you mental anguish. It'll work for you. Keep us posted.
