Maze Procedure in Future

I have been dealing with AF and an enlarged left atrium
(250cc to 350cc) for about eight years now. I also
have a cogential mitral valve prolapse. Qunidex kept
me in NSR for about 5 years. Over the past three years I
have had probably close to 50 cardioversions. Yes,
they worked every time, I have never converted from
medication. I would remain in NSR for anywhere from
a few days to 4 months. The frequency of the
cardioverisions has increased over the last 6 months.
A heart cath completed last Friday confirms a
significantly increased mitral valve leak (valve likely
repairable), one artery closed 70% with other two clear.
My doctor recommends valve repair to stop further
valve function loss, bypass for the blocked artery, and
the maze procedure. Since no one in the Atlanta area
performs the procedure going to a distant qualified
clinic is an unsettling prospect. I am 54 and in good
condition otherwise. Comments or suggestions on
locations for this surgery would be appreciated.

Thanks
