Dave, there are a lot of posts on this board of individuals who had to travel a fair distance for their maze procedure. I am from California, Carl Plaskett is from Florida and Mike Johnson is from Virginia. We all ended up at the Cleveland Clinic with surgeries within a week of each other. That made it easier on me knowing the others were there.
I decided to fly that far as Cleveland is ranked as the number one heart hospital in the U.S. by U.S. News and World Report. Dr. McCarthy is ranked as one of the best heart surgeons in the country. To me, what's an air ticket for people who do these surgeries so often and so successfully. But, as Jack or anyone else would tell you, all of the guys doing this surgery are the best in the country and all of their hospitals are very good.
The other thing at Cleveland is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. How can you pass that up?
