Dave the information Ed gave you is very good. I think there are several very good surgeons across the country that does the maze now.
I had mine near where I live, at Peoria Illinois, and was very pleased with the surgeon, and the facility. I had no problems of any consequence, a fast recovery, and a complete cure, and that is about all you can ask except maybe a tour through the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I did miss that. I may have to go to Cleveland some time just to see it.
The Cleveland Clinic probably does the most maze procedures right now, and they have a excellent reputation. I liked the smaller setting, and more personal contact with my surgeon, as he was the one that made the daily rounds to check me. I do admit that the surgeon that did mine was my second choice, but the way everything turned out I couldn't of been more pleased.
Do you live near any city that has a maze surgeon. We have a list of surgeons on the board, but it is not complete.
