The total cost of my Maze surgery (4/4/02) was about $54,500. About $18,000 of this was incurred in San Diego for an angiogram and other tests and bills before I went to LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City for the actual Maze operation. So LDS and the doctors and assorted tests there were about $36,500. These amounts were "billed" amounts. Medicare and my supplemental insurance carrier allowed and paid only a total of about $41,500.
