Congratulations on the successful surgery. I am pleased you had a mitral valve repair rather than the replacement you had originally talked about. As you know the maze is difficult surgery so, if yours was to be your surgeon's first maze, you might be better off without it (done by him or her). So please be pleased with what has been accomplished. For all you know the damaged mitral valve might have been causing the a-fib and as everything heals so possibly might the a-fib improve. If not, you have options out there as others have already mentioned to you. So hang in there. Virtualy everyone makes it into NSR in the long run and so will you!
