I am very pleased to hear that they were able to repair your mitral valve with the Carpentier Ring and repair the artery. I had all three procedures that you were supposed to have and spent 7.5 hours on the table.
In my humble opinion there is NO excuse for a surgeon to leave after the surgery without covering your family, or you, on the out come and reasons why he did not do the MAZE. There is also no excuse for his not dictating his post op notes before he left for vacation. His associates should be able to answer all of your questions from those notes. I think that you have every right to be angry with the surgeon. It is probably fortunate for you that he did not do the MAZE procedure.
