It may be that strenuous exercise increases the incidence of A-Fib but for everyone I hear about in this catagory I hear about and know an equal number of sedentary people who have A-Fib (both men and women). It does appear that age (over 50) and heredity is highly correlated. Of course there are exceptions to every rule.
