My husband had first attack of a-fib for seven hours and converted with medicine. His second attack was two weeks later with SVT for two hours. Sence then he has gone in and out of a-fib several times. He is on Rymthmol three doses of 225mg per day. We had an electro-study and a heart cath. done to see what we can do. Our cardologist told us our options are:

1. Medication for the rest of his life
2. Pacemaker to make it livible with a blood thiner added later to prevent stroke
3. Maze, try for a cure

We meet with the surgeon this week to discuss it.

May husband is 38 years old, very active mechanic, is in top physical condition with no health problems. He already sence this started July 2, 2002 has been dealing with depressin, anxity, fatigue, along with other side effects. This is very upseting to think the majority of people will say live with medication.. But for 50 years? Is there anyone who is not yet considered to be chronic considering the maze. Our doctors say he is a perfect canidate.

Help.
