10 months post maze and having problems

I'm 38 years old and had the maze last august. I have been through all meds. and had a pacemaker installed so I could take sotaol, then went foward with the maze. A few weeks after surgery I started having A/F and Dr. put me back on sotalol. That worked till last week and I wore a event montor that showd A/F with some sinus tachycardia. Dr. said ablation would do no good since the maze has already been done. I went into hospital and was loaded with amiodarone. I'm very worried about the side effects from this drug but I feel as though I do not have any choice right now. Has anyone had the same problems.
