Alan: Welcome back to the board. It's great to hear of your success since your last post just after your maze in December.

Please continue to contribute for the benefits of those yet to find the cure to afib, and who are still suffering through having the symptoms treated by drugs, etc.

I was also "fat and depressed" having given up hope of enjoying competitive swimming, and triathlons. At 16 months, post maze, with no afib since discharge, I have stopped celebrating by testing all the triggers with coffee,espresso, chocolate, wine, anger, etc., and have begun to train again. With 30lbs gone and perhaps 25-30 to go to get to my former competitive weight, I am convinced I can again enjoy what I lost over 10 years ago. I am in St. Pete, FL, and if you get this way for some event, perhaps I can join you.
