Welcome to the board Sharee. It is great to have the addition of your experiences to the rest of the maze stories. Maybe some day it will all boil down to a picture that will be more clear and predictable for the people considering the maze.
Hopefully the input from the other members will give you more reassurance of a much better life in the near future. Are you maintaining a NSR now?
I may not be correct on this opinion of mine, but most surgeons are using RF heat tips, cryo surgery, and now microwave tips to form the lesions on the heart instead of cut and sew, and I think this takes longer for the tissue of the heart to form the barriers that is needed to stop the AF. These new methods are quicker than the cut and sew and requires less time on the pump, which is a very good thing, but I think steady NSR comes a little slower.
