Jeanne: I must join John Behle and Ed Wehan in a sound rebuke of your post above, but first it is important to further remind our readers that you have been reminded more than once to be honest re: your UNUSUAL, EXPERIMENTAL, maze procedure. I did so in my post of April 20, 2001, on the AF Page Message Board, which for those who have not read it, I have pasted it here:

April 20, 2001
Jeanne: I know I am not alone among the many (way more than"the 300 and some" you refer to) maze recipients
in our sadness that the maze has not yet corrected AF for you. I hope this current ablation will cure you forever.
I also cannot hesitate to be honest by reminding you that you have previously posted that Dr. Cox told you that
you were his FIRST "beating heart" maze patient, which as I understand it was done without the use of a
heart/lung machine. I HOPE you knew you were going to be the FIRST for this procedure and were prepared for
the associated risk. Others should know that as far as I and others know, this procedure was very short-lived
(you are the only one I have ever heard of). Many or probably all of us have used the internet to research every
possible thing we can find about AF. I know I did for months before I decided to have it done. During my research
and posting questions, I received dozens of private emails (including yours) which were invaluable in helping me
"make the plunge". Fortunately, I was not influenced by the very few "problem" cases of which I became aware,
and I was not aware until I was at the CC with my laptop computer, that your surgery had been the first "beating
heart" routine. Had I known that from your cautionary email, I would have been more at ease about what I was
about to do, and I would have made SURE that I wasn't going to get THAT procedure without knowing a LOT
about it, just as you (and I) recommend anyone to do. The maze is NOT a run-of-the-mill elective action, but nor
are the awful drugs which SOME of us had (and have) to progress to as the preceding drug ceases to be
effective. The maze, ablations, drugs, diet and life style changes are ALL choices. Make them with care! I hope
and pray that your ablation is successful and that you can soon report that you are AF-free. It is truly wonderful, and I wish it for everyone.

NOW...to continue: Jeanne, I could not feel more for your disappointment! Give us some details of the ablation you were about to have in April. Have you ever
talked with Dr. Cox about your problem?
If, as Ed suggested, you contact Mike Johnson, who is even looking into a second maze, do NOT expect Mike to be a simpathetic ear if you are critical of Dr. Cox. I seriously doubt anyone could equal Mike's high opinion of Dr. Cox's dedication to helping maze patients, even those like Mike, who had his maze at Cleveland, but sought help from Dr. Cox, who unselfishly has gone out of his way for Mike in getting him 3 post-maze ablations.
Perhaps if Dr. Cox were aware of your problems, he could be of some help.
I hope you will remember in the future to give full details of YOUR maze PROCEDURE when you post your maze results/criticisms.
In the meanwhile, I will continue to hope that you will soon be successful in your search for a cure which will enable you to enjoy raising your granddaughter without the curse of AFib. I would like nothing more to see you in NSR, and should you go for such a procedure, please let us know so we can say some special prayers for you.
DON'T give up hope! I would love to meet you, shake your hand, and welcome you to the large fraternity of the "cured" afibbers.
I apologize for seeming rather callous, but I also sometimes get my peace of mind from "speaking my mind", but MOST of the time, I get it, like hundreds, even thousands of other mazers: by being in NSR.
