After several years of almost non-stop Atrial Fib, I had the Cox-maze procedure. I had beaten all of the medications that are available to control a-fib and with my heart enlarging because of the improper beating I decided to have the procedure. I only wish I could have had this done years ago. The procedure was completed on April 24, 2001 by Dr. Brad Verzales in Petosky, Michigan. Dr. Verzales studied under Dr. Cox in Philadelphia, PA. The procedure went very well and I have been off all meds except one blood pressure pill since that time. I feel better and have more energy than I have had in many years. I would highly recommend it for any person who is in constant a-fib.
