Jim:

Dr. McCarthy performed my maze on 8/8/00...for the first day and a half i was in NSR, and moving around the halls well. I then became slightly irregular and was put on norpace which seemed to make me worse. It got to the point, where i could barely go out of my room due to fatigue and weakness. My feeling is they gave me TOO MUCH /TOO SOON...anyway, i basically was out of control for the 10 days (racing as high as 220)...Dr. McCarthy will probably remember me if you mention my name, because he remarked that i was a 'tough' one...ultimately they got me in NSR with a combination of rhythmol and digoxin...I was discharged on day 12 and have bascially been in NSR ever since. My cardio is very conservative and slowly moved me off the rhythmol. Bottom line: give yourself time to heal...I know how discouraging it can be...As you review the board postings, I think you will note that these 'bumps' in the road are the rule rather than the exception. My best to you, Pat
