Sheena, it looks like you have received a lot of good information from the other follow up post. You will be getting more work done than the average Mazer and this may, or may not increase your discomfort.
I can't give you any suggestions based on my experience, as I only live about 5 mile from where I had my surgery.
I do hope and pray that your surgery, your recovery, and your trip home goes very well for you.
