My only "slump" came at the end of 12 days post-maze, but it was extreme coughing because of a post-nasal drip which kept tickling my throat. The cough had started after my sinuses got plugged up following my flight home from the Cleveland Clinic. I was so excited about being able to walk faster and faster, that I was up to 3 miles in 30.5 minutes on day 12, which was kind of cold here in FL (about 50), which aggravated my throat. The coughing started that night and lasted about 2 weeks until an antibiotic cleared it up for me. I stopped walking during that time to keep from provoking a cough, and I was somewhat down because of not being able to exercise and from the exhausting coughing.
Pat took notes, so she has an accurate record of her recovery, but we both agree that as you feel better and better, you just forget the "valleys" in your recovery, because you know the view from the top of the next hill is going to be so great. Pretty soon all the great views of the future make those views from the few valleys dim from ones's memory.
